There’s a lot of hullabaloo whenever a popular almost naked to full on naked magazine hits the store shelves. While the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues and they Playboy magazines are there to sell bodies less as art and more as titillation, the ESPN body issue really does feel like it falls on the art side of things. The photos are there to show off the power and strength of the athletes found inside, more in line with sculptures found in museums, and less like the nudie mags which are there to show off specific bits and what those bits are used for sexually.
That doesn’t stop people from getting all huffy though… and it really doesn’t stop Mike from having a bit of fun with a certain Elmo book and a loosely guarded social media account.
