I got an email from Shawn detailing a run in he had with a gas station worker who would not give Shawn a discount on some candy bars. This happens more times than we can count. Some promotion gets advertised but it somehow doesn’t wind up in our computer’s system. Certain employees will argue with the customer when this happens. I usually defer these situations to a manager.

It’s hard to tell when there is a promotion going on that we’re not aware of due to all of the customers that walk up expecting to only pay 5 bucks for a computer book because they “found it” on a bargain display. Also, when there’s memo after memo, emails, notes, sales goals, calendars, and schedules taped to the registers telling us what’s going on on a daily basis, it’s hard to keep things from falling out of sight.
Thanks for the email, Shawn!
