Here’s A Tip
I have been working at the bookstore for ten years… how have I just found out about this function 7 option on the PDT? My only explanation is the comic above. Way back in the day, when PDTs were first introduced, maybe five people got to read the manual, then they lost it, and now all PDT operating knowledge is passed down through the generations of booksellers. A little bit more forgotten with each new employee being “trained” in how to use it.
My training, ten years ago now, consisted of being dumped in the kids department, pointed to a pile of board books and told, “Use this thing to scan the books to put them back where they belong.” They handed me the PDT and went on their lunch break. …or went home. I never saw that coworker ever again actually…
