I have a patreon page!

We’re still seeing these holiday reading socks, ornaments, candles, lights, scarves, and whatever else christmas-y come into the store. The clearance bins are overflowing with unwanted merchandise, Saint Patrick’s and Easter crap is being dumped onto shelves already, I don’t doubt we’ll see Memorial Day books by the end of the month so it’s not much of a stretch to think that THIS year’s Christmas crap is already on its way.

When did retail get so impatient? People still shop by seasons and holidays, is having stuff early really this beneficial? When we’re taking down Valentine’s Day displays BEFORE VALENTINE’S DAY, what’s the point of even setting up that display? Did we even get it enough time to sell?

We also were shipped WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many advent calendars this past year. I doubt we’ll sell them all now, even if they are 75% off. All of those socks, scarves, caps, gloves, mittens, blankets, they’re just on display now pretty much waiting for the clearance to drop to 2 bucks per item. Things clear out pretty quickly then, but until then we have no choice but to add to the mountain of unwanted chintzy crap.
