The Learning Management System. Home office loves this thing. We barely look twice at it. It isn’t used until someone is thinking of trying to get promoted, or when Home Office mandates its usage. There isn’t much useful information found within the Learning Management System that can’t be found elsewhere or by WORKING THE JOB.
A fresh mandate came down a week or so ago that requires all booksellers to watch some boring videos on how to sell the Membership card. We all get it, it’s important. But some people aren’t wired to be a salesperson. I still can’t understand how we can’t hire and schedule to people’s strengths. Some people are extremely introverted but really good at organizing. Give them some small opening shifts where they can push out books and let them go.
