Bigwig visits from higher up management leads to furious activity of dusting and making the store look “just right” for the arrival of the Home Office God or whoever. If you know your supervising manager though, there are some tricks you can pull to save time to focus on other tasks. One such high ranking manager is extremely tall from what I’ve been told and being so tall this manager tends to only check the tops of shelves to see if everything’s been dusted proper and such. Good managers will keep on top of dusting and other such activities just fine. Lark-type managers will waste a lot of time worrying about the visit and then try to do all they can to play on those tricks, much to the detriment of the upkeep of the store. That dust can really pile up after a while. Inches thick in some places.
