This kind of thing happens from time to time in retail. Be it vacation, someone moving, quitting, transferring, whatever. It’s always a bit sad when someone you enjoy working with isn’t there anymore. Especially after you’ve been working with someone for over a decade. To feel that lack of their presence is a little unsettling. Work is still alright but that thing that made work a bit more fun and bearable is gone.

On a brighter note, someone who I worked with quite a few years ago sent me an email and it totally made my day:
“It’s been ten years since I moved…but I still enjoy your humor and insight! And around my store I am known as “the lady who actually WORKED with Mike”. You’ve infected the whole store!”
Thanks, Cynthia!

I think you still have copies of some of my original comic strips, did I sign them?
