For a lot of the employees, December 31st was the last day of work at Westgate. For others we had another two weeks of work packing up what wasn’t sold. Due to how employment was handled, those with tenure were offered the closing up shop jobs first and while most of those who took that offer were part of the dream team, there were others that for some reason or another weren’t terrible enough to be let go earlier in their bookseller career and they took up a few spots.
This comic is also there to pay homage to a manager who was transferred out just before Christmas but was awesome enough to come back and help us out on her day off. It was a very touching gesture and was a great reflection of who they are and what kind of friendship was developed throughout the life of Westgate.
