Pandemic
While I’m not the biggest competitive player out there, I do catch the bug from time to time and a nice teamwork board game is a great change of pace from such table top servings as Small World or Ticket to Ride.
Pandemic is probably the toughest of the teamwork games I’ve played. I’d say you’re going to lose the game about 70% of the time. So many things can go wrong in an instant with it. One card flip and the whole game goes pear shaped.
I’d recommend Forbidden Desert for starters. The difficulty is easier to scale and it’s a bit quicker to set up. Castle Panic also comes to mind, think “Horde Mode” or any type of defend against waves of monsters-type video game mode you can find in your Call of Duty games but distilled into a fantasy board game.
