Product Pairings
Doug wrote me a great email about a customer they had at his store:
“The other night at our store in the Atlanta area,, a woman came to the young P-T cashier with her purchase—the boxed set of Fifty Shades— and a package of batteries… … …One heckuva challenge for the cashier to keep a neutral smile on her face while ringing that combo up 🙂
“When i heard the story, i suggested we try to upsell all purchases of the trilogy….hey we now stck batteries,, and there’s that great bargain book on knots…”
I took it further with those “what if” ideas and wondered if The Bookstore would respond by stocking certain items for pairing up with those titles…
