I got an email from Megan which really surprised me:

“One day was going pretty well. This was back in 2011 after the Fukushima Daiichi disaster, and our company had a little donation box for people’s spare change to help out.

I had a moment of douchebaggery when some old guy said he wanted his penny back from the donation box when he learned the money would be going to earthquake and tsunami relief effort in Japan. He said, “I’m a veteran of that war, so I have no sympathy.” I couldn’t actually come up with anything polite to say, and because I was so stunned, I didn’t say anything except, “Wow, really?” after he left.”

This of course reminded me of our very racist Ginger. She was the bane of our store for many a year. Going out of her way to pick on people with Asian features and general complaining. I’m glad we don’t have to deal with her anymore…. Although with her absence she’s left a void that many other stupid, racist customers are trying to fill.
…ugh…
