Sick calls can ruin anyone’s day. The one who is calling in sick, being sick is never enjoyable. Those who have to cover the sick person’s shift, you weren’t ready for the change.
Getting your mind ready for a particular shift at work only to have a curve thrown at you. You aren’t at cafe, you’re working in music because Derrick caught the ‘flu. It can take a few minutes to get your mindset reset. The worst of course is when you have a receiving shift, the best shift, the shift without customers, only to be pulled to the sales floor. The day drags on from there.
