The baristas have to take out the trash regularly from the in store cafe, and with our cafe being the “island style” in the middle of the store set up, there are no close exits for them to take the trash out to. They have to walk it all the way through the store to the stockroom to chuck the garbage out. I’ve seen customers get a little miffed when asked to move out of the way for garbage cans. The bags smell bad, all sorts of liquids and foods get mixed in and the coffee stirring sticks and straws don’t help keep the structural integrity of the bag secure. A lot of leaks can and do happen.
I was hyper focused on finding a book for a customer on the phone so I didn’t really hear my coworker say “look out, leaky bag,” with the proper context, I thought someone was calling me a leaky bag…
