It was incredibly sad to have to consolidate the different sections of the store. Selling books and not having replenishment books come in was really depressing. All those empty shelves. This was all compounded by the fact that we were closing during the holiday rush too. Customers weren’t just normal mad, they were MAD-mad. We didn’t have their book AND we were closing. Adding to all of that was our store manager being a total jerk-wad in how they were getting transferred and you wind up wishing you could stock-pile the Sue Grafton books so you can spell out what you really feel about them.
