Membership Changes

So the Membership has changed benefits over the 18ish years I’ve been with The Bookstore, magazine subscriptions, mailed gift cards, coupons, tote bags, probably some other stuff I’m forgetting…. Removing the additional discount on top of anything 50% off (or more) makes selling this membership program to people a little more difficult.
I wonder if it’s only through the holidays, maybe they’re testing something out, but a lot of the time these changes become permanent. One of the few reasons to have a membership as an employee was to use it on things discounted 50+% off. What’s the point of supporting the thing if we don’t benefit from it?
