I was fixing up a display in the travel section when a customer walked into the store smelling of fresh marijuana. He stood too close to me, kept giving me shifty eyes, and, what I could deduce, was super paranoid about something, possibly everything. In order to pass off as a “real customer” he grabbed some random travel book from the shelf, looked at two random pages, placed it back on the shelf, and left the store. Had he walked into a grocery store or a Home Depot, would he have grabbed a bottle of milk or a hacksaw, given it a cursory glance, and exited just the same?
