This comic was inspired by an email from Melissa detailing what went down in one of the first Borders stores that sadly went under, “A source of great amusement was opening the boxes of junk the home office sent us to get rid of. If you think bookstores that are not closing carry a lot of crap, go look around one that is closing. We had thousands of bookmarks, wind-up toys, bath salts, candles, pens, greeting cards…”

My brother and I were up late, later than we should have been, tossing ideas around of how disturbing to make these plushies and toys that would wind up in a store that’s liquidating. If the last panel of the strip here got you going, “eeeuughh!” then I have accomplished what I set out to do.
