Vocabulary
The workbook section is ALWAYS a mess and ALWAYS overstuffed. It’s the worst of both worlds. People don’t put the books back because the section is too full and too difficult to find the right spot for the myriad writing/spelling/math workbooks so they just toss the thing anywhere.
The particular four letter words alluded to in the comic are sadly in use with younger and younger kids these days. Call me a prude, but I find a child of 6 or younger using crass language to express themselves not as endearing as a child of the same age using vocabulary ABOVE their supposed reading level to communicate. Even if they use the word “lugubrious” improperly, they are at the least expanding their repertoire.
