I got an email from a reader who shared a few stories with me and this one caught my attention in particular: “Just the other day I got yelled at for carrying anti-American cookbooks (she was pointing at the Latin cookbooks. ‘Those people need to learn english and stop cooking with jalapenos.’ *headdesk*)”
